There are roadworks in operation between the M8 and Holycross Abbey, impacting guests coming from Dublin/East of Ireland.

We suggest the following alternative route which can also be viewed on Google Maps here:

Leave the M8 (at exit 6) and drive towards Thurles on the N62. Turn left onto the L-4017 Clongour Rd, and left again onto the R659 in the direction of Holycross.

It will likely add approximately 5 minutes to your journey.

Be careful using Google Maps to navigate from Holycross Abbey to Kilshane House. Most of the route will be correct but it will often try to send you off the L4306 in an attempt to travel through what is effectively a dead end.

Instead, go into Bansha Village, and along the N24 road where the main Kilshane entrance can be found.
